Renault 5 Turbo 2

This is a lovely Renault 5 Turbo 2 in exceptional original condition with 53357miles (85870kms) on the clock.

The good thing about this car is that it was brought into the UK immediately, meaning that the mileage and history is evidenced right from the start.

This R5 is confirmed as leaving the factory in 1st March 1984 and brought straight to the UK and registered here on 17th April 1984 by its first keeper, Mr D Ali. It was then serviced and maintained by Renault London every year/ 10k kms. All receipts present, including for clutch and master cylinder on 21st June 1988.

On 17th August 1988, it was sold to its second keeper, Mr E M Dinwoodie. The car was now serviced approx every 5k kms, by both the owner and Renault Carlisle, up until June 1997 when the car was taken off the road by the now elderly owner. Again, all receipts present to confirm.

On 31st July 2012, the car is pursued by its third keeper, Mr K Elsworth. The paperwork shows that he then spent a lot of time and money with the UK authority, John Price Rallying, bringing the car up to top notch condition, replacing little plastic grills, lights, trim pieces and and anything that needed done. It was serviced and maintained by John Price Rallying throughout the course of his ownership until December 2022.

In December 2022, it was purchased by Mr M Yilmaz who kept it for just 8 months before being taken into stock by 4star classics. They then sent the car back to John Price Rallying and spent around £6k over a year or so doing anything that needed done, including a new 4:1 exhaust manifold and polished heat shield, full service, full set of brake discs and pads, and other works.

The R5 is now registered to me and has been back to John Price Rallying for a Bilstein coilover suspension conversion and geometry set up at a cost of £7k. The original suspension has been retained. The wheels have also been upgraded to new Compomotive items allowing the fitment of modern Toyo Proxes TR1 tyres. Original mint wheels and new Michelin TRX tyres included.

There is a leather-bound folder 3 inches thick documenting everything mentioned above and there are no stories.

The condition of the car is excellent if not perfect throughout. Bodywork is spotless and the interior is unmarked.

This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a genuine and documented R5 Turbo 2 which has been cherished by each of its handful of owners with paperwork to prove it. There are also photos from decades ago, along with handwritten notes and dealer documents. It has clearly been a much loved car and never raced or abused. Documented UK history right back to day one.
