1.0 THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.1 These terms and conditions detail the basis on which any vehicle, product or service is supplied to you.

1.2 They come into effect once a deposit or payment has been received. Making a payment to Outlander Vehicles confirms your acceptance of these terms and conditions. You should read them carefully before you submit any order. If you are unsure of any aspects of the T&Cs or the process, please do ask immediately.

2.0 COMMISSIONED VEHICLES

2.1 Following an initial conversation and verbal agreement, covering general scope of project and outline costs, a deposit of £5,000 (GBP) is payable to begin a commissioned project. This deposit is non refundable.  The full deposit amount will be deducted from the final invoice.

2.2 An outline specification will then be provided to you, in the form of an MS excel spreadsheet. This specification will list the work being carried out be outlander vehicles and forms the basis of any contract between you and outlander vehicles.

2.3 The specification is itemised and costed. This is the agreed cost of the project and details exactly what will be provided in return for the sums invoiced. This specification will then be signed off to allow the project to proceed.

2.4 An appropriate base vehicle will then be sourced by Outlander for your commissioned project on your behalf, from an approved and trusted list of providers. The vehicle will be purchased directly from the seller by you, the customer. Outlander provides an introduction only and does not make a profit from the sale. Outlander does not warranty the base vehicle or offer any guarantee as to its condition. Ownership of the base vehicle will pass directly to you and you assume responsibility for insuring and taxing the vehicle.

2.5 You may provide your own base vehicle. The above terms apply.

2.6 Outlander is responsible only for the work carried out to the base vehicle, in line with the agreed specification.

2.7 Any alterations or additions to the agreed specification will be costed and presented to you for approval. These costs will be added to the final invoice. Where the value of any requested additional works are greater than £5,000 GBP, an interim invoice will be issued for the full amount of the additional work.

2.8 Payment stages are as follows:

Initial deposit of £5,000.00

Payment for base vehicle, made directly to seller.

50% cost of work upon commencement of work.

50% cost of work upon completion. Less initial deposit amount.

2.9 Agreed works cannot be cancelled and will not be refunded, unless agreed by Outlander. If you wish to delay any customisation work to your vehicle, the vehicle will be stored until the goods and services are paid for by you and undertaken by us. You will be charged for all related costs and expenses associated with this storage.

2.10 Timescales for the commissioned work will be estimated at the outset of the project. These estimates are non-binding. Many parts and products are made to order and are genuine one off items. Often, these parts rely on other aspects of the commission being completed first and delays are possible with external supply chains, suppliers and partners.

2.11 All works carried out by Outlander are warrantied for 12 months from final invoice. Any requests after this period will be by agreement. It will be your responsibility to return the vehicle to Outlander for any warranty work and cover any resultant cost. However, Outlander will assist where possible and can arrange couriers etc on your behalf. Where repairs are simple or routine in nature, Outlander can arrange for them to be undertaken at a trusted partner premises more local to you.

2.12 All products and vehicles supplied by Outlander are deemed to be ‘bespoke goods’ in the legal definition. Outlander does not carry any stock and everything is made to order to the customer’s specification and/ or requirements.

2.13 All vehicles are welcome back for routine servicing and repairs. Additional upgrades and alterations are also welcome. These will be charged at favourable rates for existing customers.

2.14 Outlander is happy to sell your previously commissioned vehicle on a ‘Sale or Return’ basis. A commission of 10% is chargeable on the final sale price.

3.0 VEHICLES FOR EXPORT

3.1 It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any vehicle being imported into their country meets all necessary entry requirements. Outlander will confirm specifications, build dates and proposed alterations to the customer. Outlander will not accept responsibility for any vehicles which do not pass customs inspections or registration, unless it is found that work carried out by outlander was not in line with agreed specifications.

3.2 For US entry, Land Rovers require to be at least 25 years old further details can be found on the US Customs and Border Protection website.

3.3 Exact details on exactly what works can and cannot be done to vehicles entering under the 25 year exemption are vague and the official customs website do not provide concrete guidance. However, it is generally accepted that the vehicles must be on their original chassis, with original engine type. Any vehicle sourced by outlander as donor vehicle will therefore be on its original chassis and original engine type.

3.4 Due to lack of detailed guidance mentioned in para 3.3, outlander accepts no responsibility for vehicles denied entry to the US by customs officials.
